Hydroseeding

Hydroseeding is the fastest, most cost-effective way to establish a new lawn on bare ground. Our truck-mounted hydraulic mulching system combines seed, fertilizer, fiber mulch, and tackifier into a single application — producing consistent, even coverage across any terrain.

Compared to dry seeding, hydroseed germinates 4× faster and withstands New Hampshire's variable spring and fall conditions far better. Compared to sod, it costs a fraction of the price and establishes deeper root systems.

We select seed blends specifically mixed for New England climates: fescues for shaded areas, bluegrass blends for full sun, and erosion-tolerant mixes for slopes — never a one-size-fits-all bag from a hardware store.

What's Included

  • Site measurement and seed blend recommendation
  • Premium seed mix appropriate for your conditions
  • Starter fertilizer with slow-release nitrogen
  • Hydraulic fiber mulch with green tackifier
  • Post-application watering instructions
  • Follow-up check-in at 3 weeks

Ready to Seed?

Most hydroseeding projects are completed in a single day. We schedule within 1–2 weeks of estimate approval for residential jobs.

Common Questions

When is the best time to hydroseed in NH?
Late August through mid-October is ideal — cooler temps and fall rain promote germination. Spring (May–June) is also excellent. Avoid July and August heat.
How long until I see grass?
Germination starts in 5–10 days under ideal conditions. A full lawn takes 3–6 weeks depending on weather and watering.
Do I need to prepare the area first?
Yes — and we can handle it. Grading, topsoil, and debris removal should happen before seeding. We offer complete prep as part of our service.

Light Excavation

Our compact excavation equipment handles jobs that need precision without the footprint of a full-size machine. Whether you need a drainage swale, utility trench, foundation perimeter, or site clearing for a new build, we can do it without turning your yard into a demolition zone.

Light excavation is the foundation of almost every project we take on. Proper water management — getting it away from foundations, driveways, and low spots — protects your property for decades.

Common Excavation Jobs

  • Drainage corrections and French drain prep
  • Utility trenching (electric, water, gas coordination)
  • Foundation perimeter work
  • New construction site clearing and rough grade
  • Driveway base prep and edging
  • Small pond and retention feature shaping

Describe Your Project

Common Questions

What size jobs do you take?
We handle residential and light commercial work — typically up to a half-acre of active excavation. Larger projects may need heavier equipment.
Foundation of Every Job

Rough & Fine Grading

Grade is the single most important factor in long-term lawn and property health. Water that pools near foundations, collects in low spots, or runs toward driveways causes damage that no amount of seeding or landscaping can fix downstream.

We establish proper drainage slope, smooth out rough cuts from construction, and prepare a consistent, level seed bed that gives hydroseed its best chance at even germination. Rough grading moves earth into position; fine grading creates the finished surface ready for seed or topsoil.

What's Included

  • Rough cut and fill to establish drainage slope
  • Stone and debris removal
  • Fine grading for seed bed prep
  • Laser-level or eye-level grade verification
  • Integration with loam spreading and hydroseeding

Topsoil & Loam Supply

Seed can't establish in compacted subsoil, construction fill, or rocky hardpan. A proper loam layer — typically 4–6 inches for lawn areas — gives roots the aerated, nutrient-rich environment they need to grow deep and stay healthy through New Hampshire winters.

We source quality fine-screened loam from local suppliers, deliver and spread it, and integrate it into the grading and hydroseeding workflow so everything happens in the right sequence with a single crew.

What's Included

  • Premium fine-screened loam or topsoil
  • Delivery and spreading included
  • 4"+ depth for seed areas (more for raised beds)
  • Coordinated with grading and hydroseeding schedule

Site Compliance

Erosion Control

NH stormwater rules require erosion control on disturbed sites above a certain area. Beyond compliance, erosion on an unprotected slope can destroy weeks of prep work in a single rainstorm. We install the right combination of measures for your site before anything else happens.

Hydroseeding itself is a powerful erosion control tool on slopes. Combined with straw erosion blankets, compost filter socks, and silt fence where needed, we can stabilize nearly any disturbed area quickly.

Erosion Control Methods

  • Hydraulic mulch hydroseeding on slopes
  • Erosion blanket installation
  • Compost filter sock (silt sock) berms
  • Silt fence installation
  • Inlet protection for catch basins

Need a Stabilized Site?

Whether it's an active construction site or a disturbed yard, we'll get it stable fast.
